Because It's Better To Be Irrational With Me Than Rational With Someone Else

A Sweet Problem that No Program Can Solve

I just baked bread, and it collapsed on me. I made tiramisu, and it was just barely sweet. I made cherry ice cream, with cherries that I quite did not like.

As my relationship with my boyfriend is growing, my something-ship with Stan is getting stronger. We are allies in this strange evil world of gossip and assumptions. We are... everything that everybody would like to be. We are not together but everybody sure would like us to be. Maybe possibly including both of us.

Dr. A, the fabulous research advisor he is, notified the Navy that I have solved the problem I was working on. I looked at him and with the saddest face I could possibly do, I plead: "Why would you say such a lie to them?"
He, with a smile: "To motivate you on finishing it!"
Me: "But it is impossible. And you just lied to them!"
He: "Well, if you don't solve it, I will tell them that you didn't and that YOU lied to me saying you did."
Me: "That is evil!"
He: "You think? Now, chop chop! finish up!"
And Stan just grins. He grins because his program is so much sweeter than the problem I am working on. But deep down he is afraid that I will solve it, and his program, no matter how sweet, will be easily forgotten.
