Because It's Better To Be Irrational With Me Than Rational With Someone Else

Because I Can't Do Easy Math

My advisor emailed me saying he approves my schedule for the next semester. I'm overloading with courses and not just easy A courses but hard if not impossible A courses. He also wrote that he wouldn't recommend this schedule for anybody else but knowing my reputation, I should do fine. My reputation? Let's back up to last semester.

Last semester: I acquired a reputation of a crazy genius that can calculate large numbers in her head and knows all 118 elements from the periodic table (names and abbreviations). The number thing isn't a big deal because some people have that sick skill but knowledge of all elements is sort of on the more pathetic and weird side (my advisor admitted that he's been teaching chemistry for years and he still doesn't remember how to spell the names of those new and weirdly named elements). Oh yea, I cannot add numbers in the 1-20 range (say, 15+18, or 7+15)even if my life depended on it. I cannot divide stuff in my head either, at all. I can multiply and add numbers that are bigger than 20 but smaller than 999 without using a calculator. I checked it out and as strange as it sounds, it's strangely true. I always carry a graphing calculator in my purse. My friend said that I do that just to make people think I'm smart and not just some stupid blonde who always jokes around and hates books. Haha I wish that was true but I just can't add simple things (on my last physics quiz I had a point taken off because I added 3 and 2 and got 3 as an answer).

I never learned the elements, I just sorta always knew them.

In elementary school I did bad in math because I didn't know how to divide easy numbers and I couldn't commit the times table to memory. I am a math minor now. I used to write threes like Es and Es like threes; I did that until second grade.
